The Employers’ Confederation of Latvia is implementing Erasmus+ strategic partnership project “VET For Employment” (No.2014-1-LV01-KA202-000522).

Project goals

The aim of the project is to create and to develop systemic tools for traineeships effectively involving employers and thus facilitating VET compliance with the labour market needs and ensuring qualitative traineeships process for all the parties involved therein.

The main reasons for the project is rather low prestige of VET, limited opportunities of qualitative traineeship and mismatch between labour market needs and education. In Latvia still the problem is a lack of qualified workforce, especially in producing industries, and therefore the interest of employers to cooperate with education institutions and to offer places of traineeships is increasing.

Project tasks

  • To develop cooperation between employers and educational institutions
  • To ensure compliance of VET education programmes with labour market needs
  • To develop and to implement new, innovative education methods

Project results

The main project result will be provision of qualitative traineeships that would satisfy all parties involved – VET institutions, employers and students themselves.
